Pente

A connect 5 board game. The players alternate in placing stones of their color. The players aim to align five stones of the same color (vertical, horizontal or diagonal). Captures are obtained by flanking pairs of an opponent's stones in any same direction (captures must consist of pairs; flanking a single stone does not result in a capture). A player wins by scoring five stones in a row, or capturing five pairs of opponent stones.

How to Play

Put your stone on any empty intersection of the board to commence the game. Alternate turns with your opponent, each placing one stone per turn. Aim to line up five of your stones in a row horizontally to win. Capture your opponent's stones by surrounding two of their stones with yours on either side. Remember that only pairs of stones can be captured; single stones cannot be captured. Succeed by either creating a line of five stones or taking five pairs of your opponent's stones. Modify your strategy based on your opponent's moves to stop their progress and promote your own.
